The town literally bursts into life!
Dates: August 15 -17Neffiès Village

“This Cinderella of the South was once overshadowed by gorgeous Provence and the brash Côte d’Azur. Now, she stands as their equal, displaying a discreet charm that her more-visited siblings lost long ago."
The Times, October 12th, 2008
Neffiès is a pretty medieval village, located on the edge of the " Parc Naturel régional du Haut-Languedoc". The quality of Neffiès vineyards is undisputed, the sloping hillsides that surround the village provide the perfect conditions for award-winning production. Sample some of the wonderful results at the village Cave, and of course in the many Domaines dotted in and around the village.
Neffiès regularly hosts festivities that are a lot of fun and a great way to sample true French village life. You’ll be warmly welcomed at the many fetes, fairs, wine festivals and live music evenings at the bar. In the heart of the village, just a minute’s stroll away, you’ll find the beautiful gothic church, a bakery, a small provisions shop and a tabac.
Just around the corner from Maison Dix is one of the best restaurants in the surrounding area, Les Goutailles. Having been praised in a 2010 Sunday Times article as ‘friendly and toothsome as you like’, it’s very popular so wise to book. Nearby, L’Escampette serves great French fare each lunchtime and evening, or simply pull up a seat on the terrace and enjoy coffee or aperitifs with a nice view and pretty sunsets.
Neffiès is an excellent base for visitors to explore this corner of France. Many surrounding villages are accessible by foot or cycle. The ancient market town of Pézenas, with a picturesque old quarter, wonderful choice of restaurants and many boutiques, is just 15 minutes away. A little further out, but perfect for day trips, are medieval towns, Roman cities, the famous Canal du Midi and coastal resorts.
